    1

    Two languages

He dreams in Spanish and argues in English.

Miguel spent his first years in his grandmother's apartment. Spanish at the breakfast table, English on the TV. She was his whole world. When she fell ill and no other family could step in, he entered the system.

    2

    A new rhythm

His foster family is bilingual — intentional placement by a caseworker who fought for it. It was the difference between a scared four-year-old and one who could ask for "agua" on the first night.

    3

    Who he is today

He loves blocks and dancing and the ritual of being the one who sets the table. He's social, direct, and has opinions on everything — especially what snack gets packed in his preschool lunch.

    4

    What he dreams about

Make a best friend at preschool. Write his full name — first and last. Play soccer on the team his older cousin plays on.

    5

    How you help

Speech therapy supports his bilingual development. Preschool supplies, books in both languages, and sports program fees give him the scaffolding his confidence deserves.
